Everyone I spoke to had an incredible time, and hopefully you did too.  Feel free to post any of your stories from the weekend in the comments section, and we look forward to seeing you next year!!

Big brands continue to jump on the Bournemouth Sevens bandwagon

February 26th, 2008

There has been lots going on at Bournemouth Sevens HQ recently, with Red Bull signing up and offering to give free Red Bull to all the players in the competition.  They will also be providing a relaxation marquee, complete with PlayStations and huge plasma TVs!

Elsewhere, in order to keep our southern hemisphere friends up to date, TNT magazine has become the official media partner for South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Excitement in the camp continues to build, the phone does not stop ringing and the application forms from teams all over the country continue to pour in.  Have a look at the website for all the details, and information about the Open Cup that we have created to accommodate the demand for teams.

Fiji Barbarians and Saracens enter their teams

Two big-name teams have thrown their hat into the ring for the inaugural Bournemouth Sevens title - Fiji Barbarians and Saracens.

Fiji has always been associated with dazzling, running rugby and will bring this tradition with them to Bournemouth. The senior side won the IRB World Sevens series in 2005/06, and their Barbarians side will be a tough match for anyone.

Saracens will also be bringing some big players - their squad boasts names such as Richard Haughton (pictured above) and David Seymour, and will no doubt enter a strong team.

Look out for us at future events, and come and say hello if you get the chance - if not, we’ll see you in Bournemouth at the end of May.
