The brand new entertainment arena will host an array of family attractions, festival traders and shows, including an exciting new Kids Disco which will see Wave 105's presenters taking to the stage and entertaining the crowd whilst inflatables, quad bikes and sporting games will keep the kids busy for hours.

Bath Rugby on board for 2012 Festival

Bath Rugby and Bournemouth Sevens have linked up ahead of the fifth annual Bournemouth Sevens Festival, which takes place over the Bank Holiday in June this year. As regular competitiors in European Competition and one of the most famous names in British Rugby, this partnership with Bath Rugby is sure to add something special to the 2012 Festival.

As part of the link-up, Bath Rugby supporters will have access to exclusive special offers on Bournemouth Sevens tickets as well as the opportunity to win weekend passes in the lead up to the largest rugby, netball and music festival in the world.

Bournemouth Sevens Festival is proud to announce a new partnership with Surrey Storm Netball.

Surrey Storm are the Superleague Franchise for London and the South East and are coached by England International, player-coach Tamsin Greenway. Surrey Storm have an impressive line-up including World Netball Series Champions, Rachel Dunn and Pamela Cookey and will open their Superleague campaign against Hertfordshire Mavericks on Thursday 19th January 2012.

Surrey Storm are also partnered by Surrey Sports Park. Owned by the University of Surrey in Guildford, Surrey Sports Park offers an impressive range of faciltities and is also the training ground for Premiership Rugby Club, Harlequins another partner of Bournemouth Sevens Festival.

There has been much controversy in the media this week surrounding the profile of women in sport. As Bournemouth 7s expressed on Twitter in the same week that the England Netball Team beat New Zealand to become World FastNet Champions and received no coverage, an all male BBC Sports Personality of the Year shortlist was announced!

This has created anger among many of Britain's top sportswomen and Paralympic Champion Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson highlighted that only 2% of media coverage in sport goes to women. Planet Netball have since launched a campaign to get Netball into the English National Newspapers with an article on their website titled: England FastNet Champions: Does Anybody Know? Wooden Spoon enter National Cup

Bournemouth Sevens welcomes a new partnership with Wooden Spoon for the 2012 Festival. Wooden Spoon are a charitable organisation with an objective to make a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged children and young people through a commitment to quality charitable work.

Wooden Spoon Rugby was officially launched in September 2007, and Bournemouth Sevens are delighted to welcome both Men's and Women's teams to the competition next year.

Wooden Spoon Men's team will enter an already competitive National Cup line up, whilst the Women's team will surely be the ones to beat in the Ladies Cider Cup. Both teams will be heading to Bournemouth Sevens hoping to continue the successful reputation that they have created during the 2011 season.

British Army On A Mission at B7s Festival

Animal Bike Tour at B7s Festival!

As the Animal Bike Tour 2011 comes to its end, Animal look back at the event that kicked it all off! Having never been to Bournemouth Sevens Festival before the crew from Animal were blown away by the shear size of the Festival and entertainment on offer!

The Animal Bike Tour proved extremely popular all weekend, as huge crowds gathered to watch the likes of Blake Samson and Martyn Ashton perform many hard-riding tricks on the new 2011 tour rig.

England Netballers on Tour

England's netball girls arrived in New Zealand this week to begin their autumn tour of New Zealand and Australia.

The girls have spent the week getting over their jet lag and training for their opening match on Monday against New Zealand. It's not all hard work though as @StcyJyneFrancis tweeted on Wednesday that the girls were staying in the same hotel in Auckland as the French rugby team!
