The Matt Hampson Foundation are proud to be supporting the 2012 Bournemouth Sevens Festival

The aim of the Matt Hampson Foundation is to provide advice, support, relief and/or treatment to anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation.

The Foundation assists individuals by offering direct grants or by paying into existing and future funds to assist with equipment, technology or just every-day expenses. They also assist organisations and institutions whose aims are similar to theirs and who also provide relief and treatment to those who have suffered injuries as described above.

Through Matt Hampson, the foundation is also able to offer mentoring, friendship and education. Very often a chat with somebody such as Matt who has been through it, 'got the t-shirt' and overcome many issues himself is the best assistance that injured personnel can get.

Third Consecutive Fitness First Partnership Announced

Bournemouth Sevens Festival are proud to announce that we are working in partnership with Fitness First for the 3rd consecutive year.

Bournemouth is home to the very first Fitness First Health Club which opened in 1993. Fitness First is now the largest health club group in the world with over 140 clubs in the UK, 437 worldwide and 1.2 million members.

Bournemouth Sevens Festival recently enjoyed working with Fitness First at the Bournemouth Bay Run on 1st April. A great partner at any event and with local clubs in Bournemouth and Poole we hope to be welcoming many of the Fitness First members to the 2012 Festival.

Our Partners Cherries Sign Off at Seward Stadium

As the start of the Bournemouth Sevens Festival fast approaches, AFC Bournemouth, one of our Official Partners, are looking to end the season in style with their final home game.

AFC Bournemouth will welcome Preston North End to the Seward Stadium on Saturday 5^th May, kick off at 3pm. Both teams are striving to secure their place in the top half of the table.

To mark the end of the season, Bournemouth Sevens Festival in partnership with the Cherries, will be giving away festival tickets as well as some fantastic B7s branded stash!

The atmosphere at the last game of the season is always one to remember and we would wholly recommend a trip to the match as preparation for the renowned Bournemouth Sevens Festival.

Bournemouth Sevens Festival Supports The British Army

Bournemouth Sevens Festival have partnered with the British Army Rugby Union who have a very successful and long established record in both their 7s and XVs rugby teams around the world.

The British Army are currently Rugby World Champions winning the International Defence Rugby Championships in New Zealand last autumn and will be trying to ‘do the double’ with the first ever International Defence 7s in USA later this year.

The cream of the British Army’s 7s players will also be looking to win the prestigious Bournemouth Sevens National Cup for the third consecutive year. All the players are active soldiers first and rugby players second, with many having come back from successful operational tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, so make sure you come along and support ‘Our Boys’!

Every year the Army’s 1st XV take on the Royal Navy 1st XV in a real Turf War at Twickenham and hope lots of Bournemouth 7s supporters will come along on Saturday 29th April to join the 60,000 crowd for a day full of fun, entertainment, socialising and some rugby!

Bournemouth University support Bournemouth Sevens Festival

sportBU are providers of an excellent array of activities for students, staff and the community of Bournemouth University and they have teamed up with Bournemouth Sevens Festival to promote the event throughout the University community.

It is an exciting time for sportBU as they are about to undergo a £1M enhancement throughout the summer to install a fully equipped Fitness Training Zone, a new multi- functional aerobics and dance studio and new fully equipped Therapy Treatment Rooms.

The new state of the art facilities will be open to the public and sportBU are offering an all inclusive class, gym and pay as you go sport membership for less than £6 per week! Live and Unsigned at Bournemouth Sevens Festival

As the biggest Festival on the South Coast, Bournemouth Sevens receives an unbelievable number of requests from unsigned acts across the UK every year to play at the Festival. Now, Live and Unsigned have joined forces with Bournemouth Sevens to give acts the chance to showcase their incredible talent.

Bournemouth Sevens Festival will kick off the Festival season over the June Bank Holiday weekend, from the 1st - 3rd June 2012, and offers festival-goers an action packed weekend filled with Live Music, enthralling sport and awe-inspiring entertainment in the form of 6 Festial Arenas, Live DJs, Fancy Dress themes and a Festival Campsite. Attracting crowds of up to 20,000 people, Bournemouth Sevens Festival has been globally dubbed as the Sporting Glastonbury.

The Official 2012 Line Up will be announced on 10th April, however confirmed acts already include Electric Mayhem, who have made recent TV appearances on 'Later...with Jools Holland', 'Top of the Pops' and performed as part of BBC Radio 1's live sessions from Maida Vale. Also gracing the stage will be Fearne, whose exceptional live performances have seen them tour with Feeder, Athlete, Nizlopi and Stornoway!

The Indoor Netball Association England show support for National Netball Festival

Indoor Netball has been running successfully for over 30 years in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and is now played by 90,000 men, women and children monthly. A fast and furious form of netball, games are played inside in high tension netted courts so that the ball never goes out of play.

Indoor Netball England have teamed up with the National Netball Festival to help promote the game to teams throughout the UK, as the INA England squads are travelling to Australia in June to compete in the Indoor World Championships in the Open Womens, Mens, Mixed and U21 Womens Competitions.

To raise money for the National squads, INA England have organised a ladies and mixed netball tournament on the 25th March at Playon, Canary Wharf. Former England Captain's Future Looks Bright with VIPER 10

It has been a sad week for Lewis Moody MBE, former England rugby captain who after 17 years of putting his body on the line for his club and country has finally been forced to hang up his boots due to a persistant shoulder injury. Renowowned for his fearless play, Lewis Moody is one of the few players to win every honour in the game, gaining 71 Caps for his country including a World Cup victory and three Tests for the British and Irish Lions. He also enjoyed a successful club career with Leicester Tigers and Bath Rugby which included an incredible seven Premiership titles and three Heineken Cup finals.

A true servent to the game, English Rugby will most certainly not be the same without him. Bournemouth Sevens Festival is proud to have welcomed Lewis to the event on a number of occassions and more recently enjoyed working with him on the launch of VIPER 10, a new generation in Sportswear. Bath Rugby and Bournemouth Sevens have linked up ahead of the fifth annual Bournemouth Sevens Festival, which takes place over the Bank Holiday in June this year. As regular competitiors in European Competition and one of the most famous names in British Rugby, this partnership with Bath Rugby is sure to add something special to the 2012 Festival.
